Grass carp. Tilapia are plankton/algae eaters so I don't think they'll make much impact on hydrilla.

A buddy had a beautiful bass tank with grass in it,,, clear water. He put 10 grass carp in and ruined it. Visibility is about 3" and muddy red.
Catch em, kiss em, let em go

You can order grass carp for TPW, they have to deliver it to you pond though. Hydrilla has to be introduced, chemicals are only a quick fix. Sterile Carp will not completly solve the problem. because when they die, it will come back.

Sterile Carp will not completly solve the problem. because when they die, it will come back. You sure about that? I wasn't aware that TPWD sold Triploid Grass Carp. I know you have to have a TPWD biologist come out, look at your lake and recommend the proper number of grass carp, for which TPWD then issues a permit. But the actual purchase of the carp is done through TPWD approved fish farms, not TPWD themselves. Or at least last time I checked.

That may be, My father in law did this in his pond. Someone said he could only have 3. I know he had to go thru TPW to make the purchase.
