At day light one morning, I threw a rattle trap under a blown out railroad bridge. It had all the good stuff for a big fish, rocks, cutoff wooden piers and dropped to deep water. On the third cast I hook into this big fish. I work her out of all that rubble to deep water and on the last 5 yards to the boat, she comes unbuttoned. Something is still on my trap though. It is just rasing all kinds of HE$$, but it is small. When I lift it out of the water, it is a 12 inch Fresh Water Ell (Lamprey Ell). It was attched to that big fish. I had hooked the Ell and in working the big fish, I finally pulled the Ell off and into the boat.

He hooked the eel that was attached to the fish. Fought the fish for a while until the eel came unattached from said fish. Finally, he reeled in the rattle trap to make another cast after cussing because he lost the a fore mentioned fish, only to discover that he had indeed hooked an eel that was attached to the fish. Or something like that.

So far to date 4 rods and reels one with a catfish still attached. But the biggest catch so far was a anchor am still looking for the boat it was attached to lol.

Had a fishin trip to private pond near Baton Rouge with my grandpa. Day was goin great. Then we got what we thought was a double hook up. We get our fish close to the boat and realize we hooked the same fish. It turned out to be a 4lb black bass with a red rooster tail in one cheek and a jerk shad in the other. Surprisingly easy to get the hooks out considering how aggressive the fish was.

I hooked a nicely tenderized speckled trout. ok here is how it happened....

I am throwing a top water bait called a TopDog for big trout and catching some nice fish. I have a good size trout on and bringing it to the boat when from behind me comes this big pelican and before I could reel in my fish it swoops down and dives on my fish. Mouth open and everything as it hits the water like a ton of bricks. I am trying to pull the fish back but too late that bird has the fish stuck in its mouth. The bird then starts screaming and making all kinds of crazy noises. He then starts to try to fly and I am pulling on the fish trying to get it out of his mouth. The pelican flops back into the water and just starts chomping his mouth a lot like he is trying to eat my fish. I am pulling and pulling and finally that pelican figures out something just isnt right about that fish and spits it out. I reel in my trout and it looks like someone hit it with a Mac truck and then rolled over it for good measure. That fish just looked nasty and it was all mushy and bloody. The TopDog is stuck all the way down the fishes throat and thank god that fish slammed that bait and covered those hooks because I dont think I would have survived hooking a pelican!!

Land was created to provide a place for boats to visit!! It is when pirates count their booty that they become mere thieves. ARRRRRR....
