It was my girlfriends bday on saturday and we started a tradition last year of going fishing for her bday, so did the same this year! Again this year used my buddy Manny to put us on the reds since my boat isn't big enough for all of us. The day was super windy with winds 20+mph. The wind put the fish in a picky eating mood, it took persistence to catch them. They were very finicky and down deep. We boated quite a few fish and lost a couple too. The bite was slow for the first couple hours (12-2:30 ish), but then it turned on in the afternoon around 3 or so. Even on the tough days Manny can put you on fish. If your looking for a great family outing or a trip with the guys to throw down some cold beers, give Manny a call he'll take care of ya. Tell him Jeff sent ya.. Talked to a guide friend last night and yesterday they boated 5 fish over 20lbs. Think I am going to make a quick trip Sunday.

This is sounding good. Just so happens that a buddy with downriggers has invited me to fish for reds at Cally on Monday. it'll be my first time with downriggers. I've trolled before, but never been on a boat using downriggers.

Good luck guys, it's been hit or miss the past few days...the front kind of screwed them up, they were still there deep, but verrrrrry skittish and picky!!!
