My Dad has got some interest in the G3 bass boats, anybody have any input on the boat good or bad. He is wanting a 17-19 foot model. Have not found one yet but he is looking.

He had that Xpress before. Hard to beat what he got out of that boat yea I know, and he wishes he never got rid of it. He and I are just curious about the G3's, just in case he comes across a deal during his search. He loves the Xpress and knows what he is getting. But has seen a few G3's and wandering about those. Xpress is at top of list if the right one comes along.

A lot of people on the crappie forum have G-3's. You might post there. They will also try to get you interested in a Lund.
If we concentrated on the really important stuff in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles

How does a 19 foot aluminum compare to a fiberglass boat for ride etc?
 Boatless for minute

I just traded a 18.5 foot bass tracker for a 18.5 foot champion, and its night and day. I couldnt fish my tracker in rough water , I'd get blown off of spots that I knew were holding fish. It did a descent job of keeping you dry on windy days, but I would have to find protected areas to fish on windy days, cause I'd just get blown around to much. Not anymore! at least not nearly as bad.

It got blown around a bit more and I had to stay on the trolling motor more than you would with a glass boat for for aluminum I couldn't complain at all.

My brother has a 190 with a 150 Yamaha four stroke, motor is way too heavy. The few times I have been out with him on Toledo Bend the boat rides and fishes pretty good.

I've got a 17ft G3 w/ a 50 Yamie. It fishes great when its just me and my 10 year old. I sold a 20ft Stratos that I wish I still had. My G3 ts fine, but there is definately times that I miss my big boat. IMO it depends on how your gonna fish, its not a big time tournament rig. It's not gonna get ya there fast and not always dry, but you can fish it. Hope it helps

I would entertain some offers as I just don't get to fish that often anymore, as I'm on the water 5 days a week with work. Let me know if your interested or would like any other information.

I've heard pretty good things about them. I have a War Eagle and a Ranger. The nice thing about aluminum, so long as it's welded, is you can take it anywhere. The bad thing about them is they are NOISY.

They are a good boat for the money, owned an 17ft '03 model with a 40hp yami and let me tell you that boat hardly used any gas, great fuel milage. Had it out on RC quite a few times in 15-20 mph winds, and it handled rough water better than expected for a tin boat. The only issue I had with it was the carpet was not that great.
