Took my son and my brother out fishing last night at a local park. Caught several small bass and overall had a pretty good time despite the wind. My son caught his second bass ever by himself. After that he had a heron stalking fish from the bank right next to him. Was pretty funny to watch.

Also, my brother had a pretty bad bird nest on one cast, finally got it fixed and reeled in the slack line, had a fish on. It was hooked really deep in the throat. I remembered a couple of posts about getting those out by pushing the hook shank out through the gills and sure enough the hook came right out and the little guy swam off, no bleeding. Thanks to you guys out there with the great advice.

Here are a couple pics from last night.

Haha, yeah, I know what you mean. I try to just let him do his thing when he wants to take a break...as long as I can see him and what he's doing. When he's ready to fish again, he just picks up the rod and gets back to it.
