Ive only been carping for a few months, and i got my first koi (i think) today. By far the easiest carp ive ever caught. I was at a little community pond with my sister helpin her catch catfish, and she pointed over to 2 kois feeding in the weeds. So i just wadded up a hunk of bread and tossed it in front of their faces. After about 5 throws, the all white one sucked it in. No scale, but it probly weighed 4-5 pounds.

did the head have shades of different color? It may have been a "ghost koi"

Didnt really look at him too closely, he was pretty plain. But his little buddy has orange splotches on its back.
