This is a poll...

If there was a "new" public ramp on Lake McQueeny how many people do you thing would take advantage of it during the year? Please select from the four options;

A. 150-275 people

B. 276-400 people

C. 401- 675 people

D. 600 + people

Would you pay for an annual membership to launch on Lake McQueeney?

Your help is greatly appreciated!

If the ramp averaged only 2 people a day, it would would be over 700 a year. My answer would be D+ easily.

It's not what you asked, but I would GO.

Need to improve my LMB fishing, running out of time.

so, do you think people would pay for an annual membership that allowed them to launch all year round instead of paying a daily launch fee?

I would like to see a usable ramp. Nice little lake with great possibilities!
I've been on the lake with my buddy and his boat but I'd never try and put my Skeeter in on the ramp we used.

I wouldn't pay a yearly fee but I'm surely open to a launch fee!

IMO The property owners don't want us bass guys on their ski lake. hammer

That would depend a lot on the cost of the membership. I might fish it a couple of times per year because of all the ski and jet ski traffic so I would not pay much for an annual membership.

McQueeny fishes great in the winter. You pretty much have the whole lake to yourself then too.

I dont think many people would buy an annual membership to McQueeney. I would not. There are too many other lakes close by that dont even have a launch fee. It would be alot better if there was a daily fee. IMO I think an annual membership would deter alot of people away because it makes it seem more like a private lake. (Like it is already) And for the poll question, I think the number would be well over 4,000 boats a year. Just think maybe 6-10 boats a day on the weekday, and at least 20 on the weekends. I think someone is going to make a killing once a new ramp is built.

i would def pay a launch fee and know several others not on this forum that would too. i agree if someone opened a $5 ramp they would make a killing.
my brother in law said they have been ticketing folks at the power line ramp. anyone had any problems lately?

I have a question about this -

I know times are tough with state budgets, but why couldn't the "public" pool together funds and build a ramp. Seems to me the Gubment should make room for this type of thing - I mean how much could it cost $200,000 - $500,000 for a really nice one. I am no expert, but I am willing to bet the public would donate to have an accessible ramp.

I mean it would only take 5,000 people donating a $100 to get that kind of month.

Don't think you would find that many people willing to donate $100. for a ramp on McQueeny.

I live next to the lake (not on it) and regret the loss of public access. I would certainly like to see access restored. Realistically, I think it will be challenging to bring together all the elements necessary to create a "public" access point. If a private land owner chose to create an access point as was originally the case with Lake McQuueeney Marina, then that would be great. Lake McQueeney Estates had a private neighborhood ramp. The developer who owned the lot tried to fund its maintenance and tax burden with a membership deal and could not get enough participation to make it work.
Living here, I would pay a launch fee happily but probably not a membership. I would not forsee fishing the lake more than 6-8 times a year. Placid and Dunlap are close and free.
