I am buying a used boat. It has an extended warranty on the motor until Jan of 2012-the motor is a 2006 model 250 HP outboard. I am looking to get an extended warranty on the motor so I can keep a warranty after Jan 2012. Any recommendations on what I should look for and who to avoid or any help at all would be appreciated. Thanks

We sell extended warranties. We handle a couple different companies and are very competitive. If you need a hand, or want a price let us know. Ken, Todd & Chris

We only have one company that will go back to 2005. They offer a 1 year on the 150 Merc for $1450.00. We also offer $100 discount for paying by check instead of credit card. Keep this email note so I have a price to relate it to. Let me know, Ken

1 year warranty for 1500 bones? Man that is crazy, I guess it would cost a ton more if somethin were to break and be replaced.

Yes it is a bit pricey. If the motor was a model year younger, a two year would not cost much more. Once past the 5 - 6 year mark most companies do not even offer a service contract. Just another small item, a powerhead for that motor is in the $8K - $9K area.
