Beautiful. We have a pond of our own down on the ranch, stocked with "hybrid bluegills". They have been in the pond for about 12 months. And I cannot wait to have one of the them put a bend in my fly rod...

Is that a ladybug fly in the gill's mouth in the second to last picture? Good eye country boy! It's a Stubby Steve fly - a feed pellet imatation. We couldnt keep the hybrid stripers from inhaling them so switched to trout worm flies.

Awesome bluegills! Is that a private pond you're fishing?

Those are some excellent Bluegills, even to rival Six-O-Ranch size. I love how they fight and put a bend in a 1# and 2# rod. Thanks for sharing!

Sweet! Those are some monsters.
It's impressive how hard those boogers can fight!
Good stuff, George.

George, those are some huge gills...I bet y'all had a blast catching them. Those ponds you have there are magnificent. Great pond management, and you can reap the rewards from them....can't beat that.
