The second of many to come "freshest data" updates is now available via the Navionics Web Store. If you purchased a Hot Maps Premium chart after October 1, 2010 your chart will be able to take this update. Simply go to navionics.com and click on web store. Have your Navionic Hot Maps Premium chart in a card reader and follow the prompts. Many new updates on Lake Fork in this version!

Does the update in any way address lake levels that are significantly lower or higher than previous card versions?

Case in point. Lake Falcon in Texas on my 2009 HotMaps Premium card is shown many feet lower than current lake level or even normal full pool. We caught lots of fish on dry land according to my card when we were there last week.

Probably many other lakes have the same situation.

We not talking just a few feet difference but 10's of feet of elevation.

There needs to be some way to show lakes at full normal pool or compensate for significant lake level variations.

At this time we have not been able to address the pool level changes in our product. I know we are working on a version to do some of that but not sure when it will be available.

The Hot Maps Platinum will be coming, please be patient. We want to get all the bugs out before we relaese it.

Speaking of bugs, if you try to down load the South version of Hot Maps Premium as I mentioned yeaterday we have encounted a glitch and we are working on it now. Should be fixed soon.

I assure you once all the bugs are worked out I think you will see the way we are headed with freshest data and will really like it.

Thanks for the reply.

Trying to address lake pool level variations could be a challenge no doubt and might drive product cost up too much.

But if the lake level data was "normalized" to a standard such as a lake's normal pool elevation that would be a significant improvement.

I bought a card in 2010, not sure if it is the 2010 version or 2009, how would I go about getting it updated?

Gravey Train- when did you purchase the chart? The easiest way to tell is go to Navionics.com,put your chart in a card reader,(any type will do) click on the web store tab, enter the store, set up an account and try to update your chart. If it accepts the chart you are good to go. If it rejects the chart then you chart is older and not updateable.

I tried it and it rejected it, but I bought it at BPS in 2010.

I get the same msg to free up space. Didn't work. So is that the glitch? Or something else?

Hey NavGuy. Quick question before I buy my cards. Will the standard hotmaps card have the Lake Fork updates on it in the future? I want to buy one premiere(which I know I can update with the latest Fork info) and one standard hotmaps. So, if the standard hotmaps will include the current update in the near future, I would like to wait. What do you think?
