Any idea which of these two creeks would be best for kayak fishing this weekend? Rowlett Creek or the creek between Lavon and Ray Hubbard?
Thanks,

I've heard really good things about the creek between Lavon and Hubbard, particularly for largemouth.
I'm not sure that Rowlett creek is very good for largemouth, and it gets a pretty hefty amount of traffic from bank fisherman. The white bass and hybrid run at Rowlett creek, apparently, is pretty phenomenal.

Do yourself a favor and paddle the creek at trophy club on grapevine. Rowlett creek is crowded with bank fisherman, has lots of trash, and has crappy launching areas

I've fished rowlett creek the last two weekends and caught a 3# channel cat the first time and a 13" bass the second time (both estimates) with only a couple bites in between. Maybe 8 hours total of fishing. Not to many bank fisherman other than the miller road bridge. I'd try between lavon and hubbard.

The East Fork between Lavon and Hubbard (I'm talking about below 78 here, not above to the dam) is a lot better for lmbs than Rowlett. The ones above the power line area tend to be smaller but theres a ton of them and its fun small water creek fishing. Gets wider and deeper at the power lines and below there the fish start to get a little more size on them imo. I like that whole area to get out of the wind. I've hit it up several times this spring for this reason and while there are better places farther out, I give it the thumbs up, especially for being so close. One thing, though. If you want to put in at the 78 bridge you better have 4wd right now. Ground's got to be pretty dry to get in there in a 2WD.
