If you have never heard of Turbo Rattler lures then you need to find out!!! If you do not own any then you need to call James Strange of SkippersPride lure company and order some now!!! This weekend I had the pleasure of testing out a couple of these uniquely cleaver lures and was most impressed. I only fished about an hour (hunting), in northernly conditions, and landed two very nice redfish. I was fishing the nuecess bay finger flats, which run up to my ranch, and usually dont have much success with lures do to the shallow water. However, the turbo rattler lures drove them absolutly crazy. Each lure is fitted with an ingenious mechanism that rattles and rotates through the water. Thus, the turbo rattler name. The device puts off added sound, vibration, and wake, makeing it the ultimate reaction lure. The reds that hit my TR spinner bait came from ,what seemed, a mile away. This is truely an exceptional device and SkippersPride has applied it to a wide array of traditional lures. Spoons, spinners, buzzbaits, carolina rigs, kingfish rigs, and much more. Today, I will focus on the TR spoons along the Laguna Shorline and will post another report, hopefully with pictures, for those of you that are a bit warry. No lie, this is a must have for any serious fisherman.

Hey Trout Killer, I'll outfish you any day with some of my secret baits... Im just playing with you man. How have you been? Been doing much fishing lately? The weather here is Houston has been pretty unpredictible, but we have had a few good days here and there.
How would you compare this "TR" spinner bait to a Redfish Magic? I like the Redfish Magic, but I really havent had much luck with them. I tend to stick with what I know works, but I am always interested in trying something new. You gonna start guiding anytime soon?

Ive caught my biggest red ever (45 inches, around 50 lbs) on a red fish majic but now that I have this TR spinner Im going to stick with it. I fish for big bites and it is definatly a big fish bait. However, there needs to be a salt water version with a soft plastic paddle trailer insted of a skirt. Also, wait to you see the trout that I caught on it Mon. morning. About 28 inches. Ill post it tonight. But, forgive me for the polaroid.

Actually I havent fished at all lately because of hunting season. Not untill I got these new lures to test out. I have hardly even fished them for more than a couple of hours and have already caught several quality reds and the biggest trout that Ive caught since last February. I havent even had a chance to try out the TR spoons but cant wait to do so. Also, the buzzbait looks down right sick. If I had to catch a 10 pound bass that is the lure that I would go with. I just think that these baits are excellent reaction strike baits for big fish.

I looked at their site and only see one spoon available. Are they that good that they are just out of the "8 colors available" and that's all that's left at the moment? I'm going to order a few to give them a try.

Its a pretty cool bait system. I hope that you can be able to pick up one of the spinner baits too. Also, if you like bass fishing, the buzzbait is a must have item.

OK I bought a few of these lures and have a couple of questions. I bought 2 spoons and a spinner and on all three of them, the angled edge of the turbo rattle is bent in different amounts. Is this for a reason? Shouldn't they all be bent the same amount? Is this adjustable or something? One of the spoons I could not even get under the surface unless I retreived it very very slow. Otherwise it ran across the surface like a buzzbait. Any suggestions? By the way...no fish. I'll keep trying though.

I saw the lures and they didnt look great for saltwater but they looked like they could catch a few bass and maybe a red in the flats. I think trout is banned from posting but not sure. The lures may work but I think you should stick to using them along grass beds in freshwater.

How does one go about being banned? What happened?

Also, spoons are not as effective when just burned strait in. You are post to work them like a bass assasin, constantly twitching your rode. This lets them flutter and gives the appearance of an injured bait fish. Though you can still catch burning them in it is not the best way. I think this is why the TR is not even designed to be realed strait in. It doesnt have a problem when bounced and fluttered.
