I am once again looking to purchase a hand held GPS. I only fish a few lakes around here and dont hike. I want it for marking brushpiles and things like that. Any suggestions to steer me in the right direction would be great.

Garmin rino 120 is excellent!!
COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

No Doubt, Garmin Rhino is a good choice for a Hand-Held unit. I have used one in Duck Hunting since they brought them out. Still Kick'n ! ! ! Keith

I tested mine in a bucket of water and it held up to the waterproof test, Ive accidently stepped on it, left it in the baking sun, freezing cold, ,, tough as nails. One thing though, they have a two way radio feature, turn the radio feature off when not in use and you will get 4 times the battery life. I reccomend getting some rechargeables, and carry a set of disposable spares with you. nothing sucks more than getting on the lake , and turning it on to go to your brushpiles, then the battery dies. I put a d ring with a float on mine also, because if your around water, sooner or later it will go in and it would be a very bad day to lose the unit itself, much less the many excellent brushpiles I have marked on it.

this size float is just enough to make it float.

I know it looks silly and bulky, but the day it goes overboard I will be smiling like a mule in a briarpatch.

I have had a Lowrance for about 4 years now....I use it regularly but I would say it tooks some getting used too....I think the Lowrance is more accurate and the maps are better, but the Garmen is really more user friendly....I like the looks of that Rhino...
