Had a buddy a couple years ago fall in twice within an hour of each other. First time he slipped when he had his foot on the side of the boat. This was all in a tournament. Second he was trying to show some buddies of ours a nice 4lber we caught early in morning. He reached in the livewell and the fish literally jumped out of the livewell and I hear a big splash. I looked back and we has standing in the lake, water was only about 2 ft. Apparently when the fish jumped out he tried to grab it and fell in the lake. He had the fish until he hit the water. Needless to say the fish got away. That is the funniest thing I have ever seen on a lake. I laughed for a few hours, but was also pissed that the fish got away. It was never a dull moment with that guy. God rest his soul. After that tourney I went and bought cull rings.

Safety First,...happens to all of us, once we get close to the edge we open our eyes. Remember hanging onto the transom of my boat with one hand as my outboard and prop is still running nexy to me and reaching in and pulling the kill switch on the tiller handle. Swimming next to my prop was a real eye opener, fishing alone...duh.....DUMB! Never fished again without being attached to the kill switch. Best day on the water is the one you get to brag about once safely on dry ground. Safety First !!!

Happened to me on Sat. First time in 25+ years fishing from a boat. I LMAO at my self. I call the a Jesus moment. I failed. I used the motor as a hoist. I had my gortex jacket on and it was full of water.
BTW jacket was dry within 30 minutes.

I went in twice in one day on Fork. The first time we pulled up on a windy point and a roller pushed us towards a tree. I was trying to get on the trolling motor but couldn't fast enough. I reached out and pushed against the tree to keep us off of it. Bad idea, it broke off right under the water and I had my weight against it. The second time was when I was pulling my phone out to see the pics my buddy was sending. We hit a stump or something. I stumbled and dropped the phone. It was like slow motion, it hit the deck and bounced over the side. I dove in right behind it. I caught it about halfway to the bottom in 12' of water. The bag of rice does the trick. I put it in there for two days and it works great.
