I have got 8 people ready to go on a 52hr and OCT. 20-22 full and was wondering if there is enough interest in going in the middle of the week to swing a trip. I wanted to go with you guys at the end of the month but the guys dragged there feet but now they are all ready and the 2 boats are full. Like I said just checking. Thanks steve

If you want to go on a YFT trip and you have 8 people, maybe you should check with Deep Sea Headquarters about a private charter for 10 people on the Pelican or maybe join one of their open 48-hr trips. Not the same as going on the Big E, but it's nice to fish just with your buddies. Just thought I'd pass that idea on to you.
Oh yea, they won't be running the 48-hr trips until Snapper season ends, that should be around the end of October, but I don't know exactly when.

SS, as DBG mentioned are you interested only in the Big E? There will be a private charter (on the Gulf Eagle most likely) in Port Aransas in November. Usually the Pelican is completely booked for 48 hour private charters by now. The Pelican is a fine boat with a great captain and they do very well. However we have booked the Gulf Eagle the last two years for Tres and Quatro Tuna and we've done very well on Y-fins and AJ's and other species. On Quatro we had 24 or so Y-fins and 30+ AJ's and all the B-fins you could want with just 15 anglers. If we had fished the second night we would of had at least 30-40 Y-fins. We can in early due to the fish boxes being completely full. There were a few things that we did not like such as barracudas being kept and not fishing the second night due to the full boxes, but those things are easily avoided with proper communication with DSH's. for the most part the regular 48 hour charters start the first wekend of November after snapper season closes as DBG said. Just something to consider.

Stay tuned. I just spoke to him on the phone. (BTW, he's a very nice guy if you get the chance to talk with him). Anyhow, stay tuned, something else may be coming up. I'm interested in your trip otherwise. PM me and tell me the details when you get a chance.
