to the fishing at the coast. Are the bays brackish right now? And if so how does this affect the fishing? is it good/bad does it make the fish move to different places?

it can turn the water a darker color, especially at the mouth of creeks and rivers. The influx of fresh water can also scatter the fish, but tide flow is important, if there are three to four tides a day(which i am not sure), the water can clear fairly quickly.

As SB says, the mouth of the rivers and creeks will be brackish for a while, tidal flow will take care of that, if not now then soon......off color doesn't mean no fish, just different style of fishing, darker colors, noiser lures, bigger Alamedas, etc....... other than the mouths of the creeks and rivers the rest of the water salinity should be fine, local Coastal flooding isn't as bad as when the hill country gets the Mother floods and sends all that water down the Guad, San Antonio, Nueces, etc rivers, then you got to really adapt.........Gaffy's!! I'll take them, we found a flock of gulls working over the water in Copano Bay last Saturday. Bro caught a nice gaffy, me 3 keeper sized trout. If I hadn't had an ice chest of Snapper, AJ and Shark from the Snapper trip the day before the slimey and the trout would of been frozen fillets now. laugh .....they are fun to catch and eat.

I remember reading an article, probably in the Caller Times, about the shrimp being much larger and more plentiful in the year following a flood. I suppose that a lot of nutrients get washed down into the bays, and helps the food chain. Sorry that that doesn't help us out much for this weekend, though. Anyone else heard of this?
