For two years I have lived within 10 minutes of the launching ramp at Lloyd Park yet I always fish Cedar Creek or Richland Chambers or Bardwell. The only time I have fished Joe Pool is behind a friends house, from the bank for spawning Crappie. Now I know why I make the drive. Got a late start. (It was chilly this morning) Got to ramp about 11:00. Started finding fish on the sonar but, couldnt get a bite. After a couple of hours of finding fish in numerous places, still no bite. Thinking about heading home when I see 5 or 6 birds working.
Tried the slab, no bite. Tied on rattle trap. caught 6 in about 30 minutes none over 11 inches. Head for home again. About half way to ramp pass over hump loaded with fish on graph. Had to stop. Just for grins tied small gold Kastmaster on the Ultra Light. Caught 18 more in about 45 minutes. None over 12 inches. Then got to ramp. This is a 4 lane nice ramp.
Two boats on trailers in the middle lanes. One wont start the other trying to jump the first. A line 5 boats deep to launch.
Beach my boat and go get truck and get in line. Finally get boat on trailer and head for home. Should have just made the drive. LOL
Mike
P.S. The girl that walked in front of my truck while I was waiting to load almost made it all worth it.

I used to drive to other lakes but the gas prices have forced me to fish Joe(dink)Pool

Joe Pool is a good lake during the week to pick up some small sandies - but i stay away from there on weekends - traffic out there is tough ... jet skiers everywhere
