Yeah, that's why I asking because I was hoping you guys were in for an mid-morning, afternoon, or evening wade. Mickey is good about early check-ins in case we decide to get there early.
Reload, it takes about 5 hours to get down there witout a boat from Houston and that's with quite a few stops. I will definitely hit praseks on the way down there for a couple of links of sausage. Reload, are you taking a boat? When did you plan on leaving and coming back? If you want to,since you are MO city, we could ride together. I will be coming down 59 from Houston anyway. My plans were to get down to Baffin Bay around mid morning or lunch on Saturday and then leave Monday afternoon after we fish that morning.

CB I think carpooling will be OK but let me check with my wife to make sure she does not make me come home monday morning. If it works out we can take my car. I have an 05 Durango and I get gas in it paid for by my families business. What do you think?

Let me know what the wife says! You are gonna have to let me buy you some beer, breakfast, and lunch. My 5.4L would of got us down there, but it would have been a costly run.

Guys,
I talked to TOO last night. Looks like we are going to try and make it down to Cast N Stay around 12-12:30 Saturday.
Now we need to gather up some food items.
Dinner 1 night:
-Fish to fry (RossF) -Potatos (RossF) -Onions (RossF) -Oysters (c-bone) -Anything else? Beans? Coleslaw?
Dinner 2 night:
-Steaks (?) -Salad(?) -Duck Brochette (RossF) -Anything else?
This is just a quick note.
I figure lunch will just be Ham Sandwiches or something of that nature. I know I won't eat much while on the water, except for some summer sausage or jerky.
Everyone post up what they think about this. I will be out gathering up some fish for us this weekend. If anyone has something they want to contribute let me know.

I was planning on bringing down some venison so we can add that to the mix on one of the nights.
Ross I am not familiar with Duck brochette how is that prepared. (I'm trying to figure out what would be good with it).

Duck Brochette is basically a fancy name for bacon wrapped duck with a little jalapeno and/or cheese stuffed inside. I was planning for the duck to be more of an appetizer. Just enough for everyone to get a good taste of duck.
Venison sounds good. I will have to pull the backstrap out of the freezer.

Okay what about grilling out on night 2. we could just do burgers or something easy. Maybe fajitas. Do they have a pit at the cast and stay? If not I have a little weber that we could use but it only cooks about 4 to 5 burgers at a time.

From what I understand, cast and stay has nice grills to use.
Grilling is where I was going for night 2. The duck I am going to prepare will be grilled and figured some venison or steaks would be nice. I am game for easy, too. Just trying to get an idea what to do.
snipingram is the man for fajitas. If he brings some fajita meat, that would be awesome.

RF, personally I'm in favor of fried catfish one night (Ever use Tabasco on the fillets before frying-awesome!) and hamburgers or the like the second night. I'd prefer steak but burgers or fajitas are good for me. Fried tator to go with the burger, not french fries, but whole peeled tator then fried whole, mixed with butter, great stuff! So's how's this, fried fish, with the duck thing, cole slaw, and hush puppies, if anyone knows how to make them. Choice of beverage. second night, hamburgers or fajitas, whole fried potatoes, fried okra? guacomole or not? I got the tortillas and hot sauce ready I'm good for breakfast, taco's OK with everyone? Can do carne guisada one morning, and sausage and egg the next. Lets get it figured out. You'd think we'd be discussing the fishing plan. BTW, got 3 spots no weekend warrior and not many guides know about for us to try if worst case the area is swamped with waders and boats.

Sounds great to me!
The fish I will be bringing will be fresh Sand Bass that I caught Saturday. I will bring some other fish, too. I always use Tabasco or Louisana brand hot sauce to marinate the fish before frying! I will pick up some hush puppy mix.
Ram, can you bring some fajita meat?

I apologize guys, but I have to take raincheck on this one. I have so much to do this weekend and the wife is nagging because this trip would be my third trip in 2 months to Baffin. Plus, she is pregnant and I always feel bad for leaving her alone for the weekend. Again I am very sorry and for the late notice. I hope you guys catch fish and I am sorry for missing out on meeting you guys.
