Going to Hawaii in Sept. and was wondering if any body could reccomend a charter boat to fish on. I will be on the island of Oahu and would like to go on a trip. Nothing to expensive, I know sometimes you can find other vacationers to share the expense. Any thoughts or reccomendations. Thanks

Probably not alot of us Texas Gulf Coast fisherpersons anyways smile

I'd suggest reading the posts and/or posting up on the Hawaii board on Allcoast:

I've seen post and responses from Mo regarding Hawaii, give it a day or three, someone will chime in.

Good luck!

I think I have already answered this one posted
somewhere else. My trip was an expensive boat
ride with one small mahi-mahi caught. From
what I have read, sportfishing in hawaii is
expensive and not real productive in most locations. Most boats are there to separate
tourists from thier money. Just like in Vegas where occasionally a big jackpot is given away,
every so often a giant marlin is caught by
a tourist on a half day charter.
However, if you hit the right time of
year, the billfishing off the Kona coast can
be good, I am told.
My advice would be to do lots of snorkeling
or diving, Hawaii is an awesome place to
do that.

good luck

Hawaii has a lot of islands and the fishing is quite different on each. Which island will you be on and when?

This is who I go with on Oahu http://www.fish-hawaii.com and always have a good time. Fishing can be spotty but last time I was able to add shortnose billfish to my C&R list which is rare anywhere else in the world!

As I recall, the pricing was VERY reasonable as well. Full day share price is $150.
