Thanks Steve, Yea steve you got me on the tag... I didn't have a pen on the boat (no excuse I know) but I did fill it out and going to turn it in this next week. As far as St Charles Bay, I had never been in it before...but if I never tried I wouldn't learn... Luckily, nothing bad happened, I did run up on some shallow stuff getting out but nothing to major (I was able to see the very shallow stuff "Land" because of the low tide) and stopped before I got to it. FYI I hooked him within 150' of a duck blind. supra, I caught him on point ID # 97 South Cavasso Point Shoreline, no secert spot. I launched at Goose Island State park. My first time putting in there and maybe my last, too many boats and not a very good ramp area, got screwed up putting my boat back on when I was loading it do to the crosswinds. The conditions where bad with all the wind but I was told by my dad that Redfish like the wind because it stirs things up for them to eat, and that weekend things where stirred up! cadd

Nice looking fish CADD! We went out last Tuesday with a guide in the St. Charles Bay area and left out of Goose Island as well. Wind was horrible too, so we decided to take out the guides airboat and chase reds in the marshes. I got a 24" but we had a guy on our boat take a 31" as well and used his tag on it. We've always been able to catch at least a few keepers in that area even when the conditions were poor.

Goose Island is where we put in to go to Cedar Bayou and it can get crowded.

supa_fishaman_941,
St Charles Bay is right by Goose Island state park in the Rockport/Fulton area.
You can launch at Goose Island, head down the cut between the poles as if your heading for Aransas Bay, and rather than making a right at the end of the poles, make a left and that puts you in St Charles bay, all I know about the area is it's shallow, be sure to take a map and watch for bottom.
Theres bait by the ramp in the park.
There are also other ramps that put you right in the bay.
The last stop sign that you turn right to go to Goose Island, rather than turn right, go straight and that road leads around to St Charles bay, theres a ramp and bait shop on the right that you can't miss.
Good luck!
*EDIT* Oops almost forgot...
Nice fish CADD!

We put out at Goose Island all the time when fishing the Cedar Byou and St Charles Bay. I fish St. Charles all the time. I would not recommend anyone go up the bay unless you know it real well. Alot of reefs at the mouth and you will need to manage your boat correctly. If the tide is low I would not recommend going up it at all.
Got stuck coming down St. Charles Bay at night one time, no spot light, no fun. Gators up there also. Ended up wading the boat about half a mile towards Goose Island toward the ramp lights in total darkness. You have to follow a strict dredge line at the mouth.
