Fishing is excellent right now and will only get better from here through the rest of the month and into May.

Saturday managed a nice mess of fish in a few short hours before we decide to concede to the high winds.

Sunday produced 57 keepers and a couple of handfuls of throwbacks as well as some gar and white bass as well.

Nice Mess of fish. Good Job!

Fished today with Dr Bob and family some long time clients of mine. We debated the wind forecast several times but coordinating everyones schedules for them to fish is always a challenge so we decided to brave the winds.

Fishing was steady early this morning in the first spot of the day and then the wind went crazy. The bite slowed down considerably but we were pretty limited in where we could move so we just decided to ride it out.

Managed a nice mess of blues and a few channel catfish as well as a few nice gar. Caught and released a 17 and had an 18 inhale a hook that floated on me when we tried to release (first trophy fish I have lost in a couple of years). Wasn't one of my better days of recent but was a fun day especially considering the wind challenges.

Ride back to the boat ramp was really rough but wasn't too bad, went and cleaned fish and when I went to dump fish guts I was concerned if I was going to make it back in or not. May have been one of the roughest waters I have ever seen.

Met a nice film crew at the end of the day doing an undercover investigation out on the lake and chatted with them a while and am thankful to be out of the wind. They were headed out when I was leaving so hope they made it back OK.

No traffic on the lake today!

I have had some last minute cancellations for weekend spots that I had to move to May and have 4/23 and 4/30 available if anyone is interested.

Brian and Heidi joined North Texas Catfish Guide Service for a day of fishing. We had to reschedule their previous trip because a massive front came through and gave the fish lockjaw. Evidently they have a thing for fronts because one came in right before this trip also.

We had 4 catfish and 2 white bass in the box at 12:00 and at 1:30 headed back to the ramp with 39 after an action packed hour and a half of blue catfish action.

Tim has been fishing with me for years and his kiddos cancelled on him at the 11th hour so he had to talk his wife into fishing. We managed 19 blues before the wind started picking up and the Misses decided she had enough so we headed in.

The white bass are on fire as well with easy limits being caught.

I have April 30th and May 1 open due to a cancellation from some clients that had a family member having surgery out of state. if you want to get in on some red hot catfishing action give me a shout. We should have three or four more weeks of this blue catfish bite left.
