I'm going to make the switch to braided from mono. After reading reviews, I'm going to go with power pro. I will be spooling up a ambassaduer 6000. My question is, after using 20lb mono, which pound test could I go with, without line digs and backlashes? Thanks in advance.

Suffix is better than power pro I have it on all my reels 50lb braid is smaller than 20 mono. And the rats nest depends on your casting. All braid well have some sort of dig so I use a mono backing. On my 6000 about 15 yards dose it for me. Hope this helps

50 80lb. just use a weaker mono or fluorocarbon leader for easier break off with snags
You can always use a 20lb. leader for channels but it sucks if you only got 20lb. main line and youre going after 50lb. + blues just gives you a few more options.
I Have a few old Shimanos, Garcia 6000 and 7000 spooled with 80lb. 10+ year old Spider Wire never had a problem and they still cast great! No break offs because of bad line!!!! Cannot say that for other brands
After a few years of use with spectra line it turns an off white if you do not like the white color just turn it around and it looks and works like new line or just use a few sharpies for a color change.

The problem with briad isn't that it backlashes more...it is just about impossible to get out when it does backlash.

I think 65 still digs in too much, so I use 80 and 100 and won't go back. Suffix loses its color. I actually like the Tug-O-War better than the PowerPro but have only been using it for about a year. Tough stuff and the yellow has stayed on, unlike the other brands.

I tried suffix once. I fish for BIG fish and it failed miserably. I paid $24? for a 150 yard spool of 80#. I fished with it ONE day, broke off 4 fish on hook sets. I pulled it off and trashed it that night. Sometimes power pro breaks on hook sets, but not anything like that suffix did. Just my .02. I have not tried tug-o-war, thought about it though.

Sorry guys its NOT the braid causin backlashes its the reel or the one holdin it I would bet in the 7 or 8yrs Ive been usin braid(power pro & suffix) I havent had 10 backlashes and they were on a Penn 209 with not enough weight ( so Ive learned )I really havent had a problem with suffix other than cant break it on hangups just got a 1000m 20# spool yesterday from ebay $39 shipped great for corkin channels hang it up just pull till treble straightens. one other thing to keep from diggin when ya hang up wrap line around reel 3or 4 times THEN pull
