I have bent gammys before, but only due to using hooks that were too thin for the application. I did that a few times, but never again. I will certainly give the owners a closer look, but haven't had an overwhelming inclination to switch away from gammys.

I'll give a little love to Gamakatsu. All I have ever used is gammy both treble and worm hooks and I love them. They are super sharp and I have never bent one, and have caught several 7lb plus bass.

Gamakatsu makes a hook for every possible situation. A lighter wire hook has a place just like a heavy wire hook does. If you are bending hooks then go to a heavier one. The new flippin hooks that Gamakatsu came out with this year are stout and the gap is wider than the standard straight shank. It also has a keeper on it.

Looks like a landslide.

Owner here as well.

Gammies set the bar 15 years ago, but Owner has passed them by.

Gammies = Sharp.

Owners = Sharp AND Strong.
