It's very smart to have outside of fishing companies as sponsors. In the whole aspect of things, the fishing industry has so much less marketing money than other companies. Looks at other sports. Most folders and tennis players make alot more money from companies like MasterCard, nikon, Lincoln, and other large companies than head, ping, and other companies in the sport.

Im not an expert but that doesnt sound like alot of sponsors. When you look at Ike's boat. There seem to be over 500 stickers on it.
How Come you dont see Elites using huge company's for sponsors. Like Rolex and Sony, or Coke?

BASS guys have their own sponsors that they get on their own, when guys qualify for FLW higher ranks they are given those sponsors.

It's my dream to be sponsored by Wrangler and Victoria's Secret Your fishing attire would be Daisy Dukes and a push-up bra.
In space, nobody can hear you scream for ice cream.

It just seems as though the Elites are better sticks than in FLW so it does seem to make sense.

This is an email that was sent from the FLW college fishing tournament director.
"Just a reminder about logos. Please make sure you are aware of this rule. This includes hats, helmets and rain suits (100 mph BPS, Columbia, etc.). 1. During National Guard FLW College Fishing Regional Championships and the National Guard FLW College Fishing National Championship, no logos, patches or decals may be worn or displayed other than FLW Outdoors sponsor logos or logos representing a teams college or university. All decisions are in FLW Outdoors sole discretion."
They gave us a list of sponsors we could put on our jerseys they give us besides Ranger Cup, and National Guard which they require to be on there.
I'm not sure if it's in their contract with their sponsors but if you had on any other logos you were in "trouble"(slap on the wrist). I've never seen anybody DQed over it but you definitely will not get on TV even if you are catching fish.
I have noticed this year the FLW pros are starting to have more logos on their jerseys and boats, not just the main Wal-Mart brand sponsors.

Can someone explain to me why the FLW pros are sponsored by food companies like Betty Crocker, Rice Krispies, and Folgers coffee instead of fishing / tackle / boat companies like the Elite guys? It doesn't seem to make sense to me but I have always wondered what the deal was. They are called non-endemic sponsors. If the tournament world only had endemic sponsors, the payouts would not be anywhere near what they are today.
