If we don't get a significant amount of rain very soon...how much longer can you put in at Twin Buttes? Has anyone used the second ramp?

I don't mind driving to Ivie or Oak Creek, but it sure is nice to leave the house and have a line in the water within 15 minutes.

Got to keep the cotton farmers in business and the "swells" (tax revenue resource) living on the banks of Nasworthy happy.
Nasworthy is a constant level reservoir that provides significant revenue for the city. Twin Buttes is used to provide that constant level as water is pumped from Buttes to Nasworthy. Even if we get a lot of rain and it fills Buttes back up, it will just be a matter of time before it reaches the current level and lower again. Oak Creek, Ivie (which is really low thank you Midland) and Amistad really are the only consistent options for us.

I actually go to school at ASU and fish Buttes quite a bit. The lake is in sad shape. There is still alot of water, but the main boat ramp, and do not quote me on this, is almost unuseable. Last time I was out in a boat, it was about a fot and a half deep in the cove. As for the boat ramp on the other side of the lake, I am not sure what it looks like, although I did see a truck with a trailer parked there.

We fish Buttes at least once a week, and most of the time have pretty good luck. Texan4Liberty has caught quite a few biggins out there.

As long as you can get your boat in, your good to go. But, my favorite spots are up middle concho. I already can't reach a couple of them. Sad!

Is Spring Creek any better as far as accessibility?

Last week, the buoy in the cove was at 2 foot. A month and a half ago, it was at 3 foot. I hear ya, throwback.

Going to be fun to witness the shotgun starts for this years TNT's on the Buttes when we're all in float tubes. I'll be priming my engine at Pepe's lunch buffet so watch my wake!

Josh, when I first moved to Angelo 5 years ago, people were actually using that first boat ramp that we always used to put our kayaks in at. Crazy.

Didn't mean to "dis" Midland sorry if that offends but, you are right, all three. Unless it's changed recently, there still isn't water restrictions by the local utilities of those communities.

Don't think it offended him. He just made sure to mention Abilene and Odessa as well.

Well, went out this weekend and tried to put in at the main ramp. Had the water more than half way up my rear tires and the boat was still sitting in 1 foot of water. So I answered my own question, can't put in there anymore.

Found the second ramp, there were a few trailers down there. It's definitely usable for now, but a pain in the butt with all the stickups when it's windy.
