I recently bought an 05' Z20, and am having a hard time figuring out the livewell. The overflow (white 1" pvc fitting) is about half way up the well in one side and only allows 6" or 8" of water in the box before it releases out the water while pumping in new. Am i missing something here or is that as deep as the water is in here? if I put a 5lbr in there she'll be sticking out! There is also a black (looks like a pump in hole) at the very top of the box, can't figure out what it's for either.

I have a 06 Z20,I went to the ranger web page and found complete livewell plumbing. The way to put more water in the tank is to switch the 3way to recirculate and start big motor and put in reverse and give it the gas till you see water flowing and it will fill up shortly and switch back to recir that will keep it full and keep your fish healthy.Works for me

The 3 way valve says, empty auto and recirculate. To fill the livewell to the max put it on auto(this has nothing to do with the timers) and switch the pumps on to manual. Fill until full then put on recirculate to keep the same water in the livewell for keep alive and ice or put back on auto to replace the fresh water. No need to back up.
Retirement best job ever.

If you think it is the valve try manually switching the valve itself where the cable connects it may not be switching all the way. I took mine apart and cleaned it out once not much to it.
