That's pretty cool. Two summers ago me and a friend caught a 10 ft hammerhead off the first rig that you see off bobhall pier. We were in a boat that was even smaller than that and not quite as spiffy. It was one of those little two man zodiacs with the intertubes around the sides. It was second-hand and only had a 4 hores engine. However, we were using conventional rod and reel. We got dragged all around the gulf for several hours and had to tow the fish into shore. Once we got to the first bar, a wave toppled the Zodiac and we fell in with the shark. Somehow, we mannaged to keep hold of the pole and eventually brought the shark into shore to the pleasure of a huge cheering audience. The media even showed up and took our pictures with the shark which landed on the front page of the Corpus christi Caller times.
