Freshwater drum get no respect, their saltwater cousins are
highly prized( red and black drum ).

The river I fish regularly this time of yr, Drum hammer Rooster tails, and when the sandies run,at least in this river, the drum run with em. They love rooster tails. The buffalo i catch on hollow body tube jigs and curly tail grubs! Terrific fighters in a fast current, both of em!

Guys if you want some Drum action go below the dam on Texoma in the summer you can catch all the drum you want with ease. Worms or small crawdads on a slip cork next the wall on the oklahoma side. Have fun they are a blast.
