Just curious....my wife and I are thinking about selling the Tracker Pro Crappie 175 and buying a Center Console boat to go mainly fresh water fishing in...but sometimes we like to go to San Luis Pass and fish the bridge....There are so many out there.....what do you recommend....I see these Bluewave boats a lot...how are they??

Beautiful fit and finish-I have heard they ride rough but i am sure an owner might not agree

HUNDREDS of choices, none bad, but few the best one....
There is a wide margin of cost differences, low end like the Mako/Nitro/Kenner (all same boats) up to the Blackjack/SCB's which can break 50K pretty easy..
The most critical part of your decision on a TEXAS bay boat, is going to be how shallow do you want to run? The shallower you can go, the more you'll compromise ride and handling. But...a big deep v CC can't go much further south than Matagorta and have much room to fish.
We can have the hours of debate over rolled edge/liner hulls, tunnels or not, and how to rig....it's all part of the joy of making a decision.

Buy the biggest one your wallet can afford including the outboard motor. If you cut corners in less than a year you will regret it.

Google up Shearwater-but only if you have an unlimited budget-quite a machine-i would say top end like the ones Pat mentioned.

Awesome...thanks guys for all the comments...this will help me in beginning to narrow it down. Don't have an unlimited budget but I do see from what I have looked up so far there are some good options in our price range...I am sure I will have questions especially when it comes to engines...

I have a Kenner 18 and wouldn't trade it for any other boat. It is wide, deep to stand in, lots of storage and handles the rougher waters very well. The coolest part about a center console is that they are easy to stand up in to take a pee, you don't have to worry about falling off the boat. lol

Six years ago I bought a used 19' Frontier 190 with a Yamaha F115. I love the boat and have had no issues. The F115 is fantastic on gas. Sometimes I wish it had a F150. As stated before get the largest you can afford, you won't regret it. Good luck on your search.
