I was trying to figure out which works best for a brush pile. An OLD friend of mine, said sweetgums worked better than cedar hands down. I have a trailer at fork and in the cove we have put cedar tops, but I'm going to try the sweetgum next time soon. I've also took 55 gal drums and bolt'em together making a pyramid and they work GREAT! but was just wondering which works best..

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

Cedars make a pretty awesome brush pile. I'm not sure which is the better of the two. Let us know how your experiment turns out. I'm sure both types of wood will make great crappie habitat.

I'm not sure if wood type makes as much difference as location.

I've put those 55 gal drums together in a pyramid and KILL"EM off it. I put a set out 3 weeks ago out at fork and the following weekend I watched an old man sit out there for 2 day kill'em. Which I don't mind because everybody puts piles out in this cove. What does bother me is the people that will drag your tops off to a new location!!!!!
