My email for a recent trip to OH Ivie compared to an email from the host of my wife's recent girls trip to South Padre. Reminds me of that commercial with the husband and wife fishing where she's talking non-stop and he's using one word answers. Why oh why do women make things so darned complicated???

Boys, the Ivie trip is coming up. Bill you cover dinner Thurs, I'll cook Fri, and Sam you cover Sat. Bob and Bill cover breakfast all 3 days. Lunch is on your own. Bring whatever you want to drink and don't forget your tackle box.

Hey Girls ~

Hope Monday didn't kick your boootay after doing pretty much "whatever" on the beach for a few days.
My to do list has already been running in my head and is about to be laid out in a master plan on paper to get back to business (starting in the morning... of course).

I wasn't sure if the "fund $$" was understood since we never sat down to discuss it all in the end, but here is how it was laid out for anyone who may be wondering:::
(If you don't care about it, don't even read this because it is such a waste of time to even have to write) -

Fishing: The guided trip for 3 is $375 per boat. When calculating out an amount per person, I added a $50 tip per guide, which came to:
$375+ $50 = $425 per guide X2 = $850
I gave each guide $480 ($960 total) because we always tip at least $100 to Hector and Dave per trip just because that is what we give them.
Just thought a $50 tip per guide would be understandable for us all to pitch in and I covered the additional because I wanted to.
Grocery: The grocery bill for the food, snacks and cokes, juice, coffee, milk, etc. was $127 which just included the food and bevs and coffee (also $13 of this was the 12 dos XX)
Vicki and I got medicine, shampoo, toiletries, etc. on a separate bill so it wasn't included in the fund $$
Liquor Store: 2 bottles Malibu, bottle of wine, 24 bud lt limes, ice was on two receipts $104 and $8 = $112

After we calculated this we came up with :

Fishing $ 850
Grocery $ 127
Liquor $ 112
$1,089 So we figured if everyone gave $200 to the "fund", we'd have about $111 left over for anything else
With the $5 from Amberjacks that was about $116 left for other things

The two main things that were paid for outside of these listed were the bar tab at Wanna Wannas from Friday and the Parrot Eyes bill from Saturday:

Wanna Wannas: The bar tab from Wanna Wannas which included the pinas, beer, add. drinks, shrimp, nachos, and ceviche came to $146 before tip (which I
gave a $30 tip ~~~ $176)
Parrot Eyes: The Parrot Eyes bill came to $178 before tip (which I gave a $40 for tip ~~~ $220) - Bill was correct as it was $2 extra per plate for
tacos and enchiladas. Bill included drinks, appetizers, and $9.85 per plate. Assuming about $20 for food, app and drinks per person with tip came to at least $24 pp)

Assuming I pay for Hectors and the desserts, add'l tip, etc. and everyone pays for their plates, apps, and a drink at Parrot eyes (about $24 per person)
Assuming we split the Wanna Wannas bill, the additional comes to:

Wannas $ 176
Parrot Eyes $ 144
$ 320

That all comes to about $1,409 in the mix.. So, even if we took some of the liquor off (although we did drink some beer, the wine, and some malibu), we still spent our fund $$
somewhere along the way.

The Laguna Bob bevs the first night ($35) and Bar appetizers at Sea Ranch aren't included in these calcs either because y'all did get lost (however that happens twice?)
and I'm not sure about the apps and drinks that were paid at the SR bar ~ y'all may have given some $$ toward that after dinner (?)

Anyway... after splitting the fishing of $850 it came to about $142 per person, which just left $58 per person. So, with the Parrot Eyes food and drinks, Wanna
Wannas food and drinks, groceries, and whatever beer, malibu, and wine that we did drank, I think everyone should be convinced that they at some point consumed
their $58 somewhere along the way...... even if you didn't eat or drink somewhere along the way... Or if you don't like wine or don't drink beer or don't like malibu, or didn't
want to split a portion of the fishing tip, or couldn't eat something fried or sweet, etc. I think it evens out along the way.

Also, since we didn't consume much of what we bought at the liquor store, Vicki came over this morning and bought back the Malibu and beer leftover. I hope that explains
the $$ situation since I got a weird sense it may not totally be understood or that there may be questions about it in the end. Didn't want anyone to think that we had wasted $$ on drinks, or that
y'all had to pay for anything extra or that there was $$ left over in some way.

I hate going over this because I figure most of us don't care, but.... just in case anyone was wondering, I wanted to account for the $$ funds and let y'all know that
y'all didn't pay for the additional tip to the guides, or for Hector's food and drinks, or for the liquor and beer that was not consumed, or for food that wasn't eaten, and that
there truly wasn't any $$ left over as all these things add up with six.

Now, I think I just confused everyone so if you have any questions, just ask me.....

Total Paid Amt considered shared
Fishing $ 960 $ 850
Grocery $ 127 $ 127
Liquor Store $ 112 $ 40 ice, wine, some beer and malibu
Laguna Bobs $ 35
Wannas $ 176 $ 176
Sea Ranch $ ??
Parrot Eyes $ 220 $ 144
$ 1,630 $ 1,377

Sorry this is so weird to go over... just wanted to make sure everyone was good with knowing where the money went and not questioning it.

Had fun! Next time, we can go to the grocery store and liquor store individually and everyone can get just what they want. And, I am still blown away that y'all got lost....twice.
It couldn't be an easier route from the airport and the island and back ... it's only 3 marked turns... that still blows my mind... In all our years, nobody gets lost.... you silly girls.

Have a great week! Again... so sorry to have to write this out. And thanks Heather and Vicki for riding the long drive down and back and for the treats along the way.
And thanks to everyone for coming on that long journey and making it a restful, fun trip! And don't forget to thank Hollie for blocking her condo for us so we could spread out in
beds and baths and be more comfortable. That was very nice of her.

Love you guys,

Laura

So, so, so true. My wife sounds like the adults on the Charlie Brown cartoons. Wa wa wa, wa waaa waaa waaa! Every now and then she comes over and pokes me and says "Honey pay attention to this next sentence it's real important. I usually last for a couple of sentences and then it turns back into "WA wa wa, waaaa waaaa waaaaa wa". She has me figured out and sometimes, I think I have her figured out. Sometimes. I could'nt live without her though.
