Just wondering...
Should I leave the O.E trebles on 'em,
or replace w/ 8-9/0 singles, like my other poppers....
Dr Shark?, Calling Dr. Shark........

Tuna Hunters are good to go right out of the box..

They already have #10- 200# Split rings and I'd leave the 6X trebbles on until you get a couple of limits...then you can switch to singles for catch and release if you'd like.

Just my opinion.. let's hear what the Shark Dr has to say?? thumb

If you go to single hooks, you may see a reduced hook-up ratio. The trebles that are on the Tuna Hunters are the strongest available and we have had customers catch 300 lb tuna on them without a failure.

I sure would like to read that report.

From my reasearch, most of the long range fleet outta San Diego are behind the times as far as topwater plug fishing goes. They still think that coffee grinders won't catch tuna.

I would love know what kind of gear caught a 300 lb tuna....

Call Chris and have him ship them to you directly. You still have time.

His store has Racks ans Racks of them. Also look at the the Tuna Hunter Jr's.

I will ask Rocky about that this week. I do know that when equipment hits the shelves at Roy's it is paid for in full, that is a lot of capital for a small (family owned) business in there.

Tx Grisley, If you come down you could go to Islander Custom Tackle in Galveston and shop with Chris. He will have a much better supply of the Tuna Hunters than FTU. As far a price goes there is seldom any significant $ to be saved from one quality store to another. Drshark

Maybe the caravan should go directly to hotel, set up shop, then run over to Islanders. then back for piggy patrol, then dinner, then continue piggy patrol/sand crab races....lol.

That sounds like a plan to me. Gotta fit some Margarita's in somewhere.

Here's some photos of some YFT caught in Panama on Tuna Hunters. I am not sure of the rod/reel setup. I need to ask Chris, he would know.

We spoke with Rocky at ICAST and their plan was to get them for next season, I believe. If you guys ask for them, I am sure they will order some sooner. Port A Outfitters should be getting some in the near future.
