I gonna go out on the 36hr on the Capt John. I have only been on 12hr trips in the past. I need some help on what to bring. Do I need my own rod? They said I could use their rods for everything except the deep bottom fishing. Will this work? How do I clean blackfin? If you can talk faster than you can type give me a call. I'll try to keep it short. Thanks. Brad. 817 929 6262.

Brad

The only thing I can tell you about taking your own gear is Known Quality and fewer surprizes than with Pot Luck boat gear. Boat Gear is notorious for failing when you get the biggest bite of the day!

Here is a Tutorial with pictures on cleaning any Tuna.

Skip the last part about Washing the Tuna.. pat it down with a paper towel to remove excess water.

Good Luck on your trip! cheers
