I'm pretty sure they are all below the JFK causeway out of Corpus, mostly the Baffin Bay area. There may be one or two around the Air Base in Corpus. Seems like I heard mention of one in the Crash Channels.

None around Port A. There are some on the Land Cut and Baffin Bay. I think there are some up around Port O'Connor.

We have a group going to Captain Carl's Crash Channel Cabin #1 next Tuesday-Thurs. The tides are the biggest of the month and will have incoming tide all night with high tides 2-3 a.m. Should be good.

Stayed at the Crash Channel cabin for 2 days last year. Caught 38 specks, 25 keeper red, 7 flounder, 2 jack crevalles, and countless smaller fish among 3 people. Best fishing weekend Ive ever had. Definitely would reccommend it. Im planning a trip there latet in the summer

Brett, that would have put you 7 over your possession limit on reds on the way home. Glad you didn't get checked! Sounds like fun though.

DBZELL--- Since you seem to be all over this game warden thing. I would wonder about this scenario , does the possession limit even apply while staying at a floating cabin ? What documentation would you need If checked while returning to port with 2 days limits . Are you allowed to fillet your catch while on the cabin ? MO

That's a very good question, and I'm no expert about anything. I just don't like paying the state money for something stupid.
From the TPWD web site: -------------------------------------- - Possession limit does not apply to wildlife resources in the possession of or stored by a person at their permanent residence.
Permanent Residence: One's principal or ordinary home or dwelling place. This does not include one's temporary abode or dwelling such as a hunting/fishing club, or any club house, cabin, tent, car, truck, or trailer house used as a hunting/fishing club, or any hotel, motel, or rooming house used during a hunting, fishing, pleasure, or business trip. -------------------------------------
Strictly the way it reads, you can't take two days limits back to port. Can you get documentation for that situation? I don't know... (and certainly not trying to be a smart A$$...)

We fileted maybe half of the specks and reds, all the flounder. They really stress to you about daily limits and had printouts at the cabin. The guide that took us out even checked our coolers before we went home, said hes been stopped plenty of times leaving the cabins

Ok, I've asked a couple of you from this post and I'll ask here too in case someone else sees it and knows. What are the NAS Crash Channels on the Laguna Madre? I mean I can see them on google earth and I know what a channel is but why are they there?
Just curious.

I think they are mostly abandoned navigation channels from years gone by. They once serviced docks and ports in the area. Some still do. Some don't. It seems I once read that some allowed access to gas wells in the bays.
