Wish i'd seen this sooner. I've been wanting to get up to RR for carp. I hear you need to be pretty accurate with your casting. Next time you go I would love to tag along. I live in Prosper so I can get up there pretty quickly.

I will send yoy a PM with my contact info.

Joel

Why do you want to know? Are you going to try to catch me?* smile

*It isn't easy to reply to a spawning question like that and not take a trip to the Wall of Shame.

George Costanza does. He finds Pastrami to be the most sensual of the sliced meats.

I phrased my initial question badly. For clarity, I was wondering whether you could induce a carpish fish to take a bait (artificial or natural) into its mouth during the spawning period. For example, although LMB do not specifically eat during their spawn, they will attack or pick up nest invaders to dissuade their return or remove them from the nest. I was wondering what the situation was with the carpy fishies.

No they can't be bothered even if you smack them on the head with a fly they won't take it.

Well no wonder there are so many of them. smile You've got to be impressed with that kind of reproductive focus.
