Probably to get away from this SOB that was in the same road...Turkey made it out alive....snake...not so much.

I'd take this picture off this forum if that's a rattlesnake... you do know they are ENDANGERED in Texas right?

no kidding. I hate to be one of those snake killers but I will absolutely give any rattlesnake near my house a permanent dirt nap.

Don't want to make this a "to kill or not to kill a snake" thread. I have a dog and a 1 year old daughter that are constantly outside. Therefore if I see a snake near my house, it dies. Outside of that I have nothing against them.

check your facts; timber rattler is endangered. plus it just looks like its taking a nap.if i was to see it it would not be able to have its picture taken.

Penalties
Violators of the Endangered Species Act are subject to fines of up to $100,000 and one year's imprisonment. Organizations found in violation may be fined up to $200,000. Fish, wildlife, plants, and vehicles and equipment used in violations may be subject to forfeiture.
this is the penalty for killing rattles in texas
