Bet I'm the last one to post before the trip...leaving Houston now. But I'll be too fired up to be tired...

They went. They fished. They caught fish. One broken rod. And Skeeter caught fish!

He caught fish and didn't explode. I didn't get all the stories and am waiting for them to report.

Congratulations guys. Lots of hard work went into that trip and I'm glad to see it paid off.
By the way...how did the seas end up?

The seas were a little sloppy on Friday, but it was nice in my opinion. The rest of the trip we had nice 2-3's.

WOW! so much for freshwater fishing!! hehe! 2 yft, 2 AJ, 4 yellowmouth grouper, rainbow runner, and a couple BFT. I AM HOOKED!!!!! I just now finished vacuum sealin all the meat and headed to the deep freeze. Of course I left enough tuna steaks out for a week!!! HEHE! I was extremely impressed with the crew and the way they treated us!! Great job DSH!!! I will definately be a liflong customer!!! I cant put into words how much fun I had! Great trip with new and old friends! And again, great crew! Next time I just hope I can hook a topwater YFT! ~~ Interesting moment- Had a Tsunami 7" swimbait on my Torium 20 with 30#- was chunkin it up to the rig messing around and caught the rainbow runner. We drifted far a way from the rig and I started jiggin it for BFT. One hit and stripped drag- line snapped because a loop had crossed over the main line in the spool and locked it down. My fault for not checkin equipment. Lost the bait and couldnt believe the pull! Back at the docks the deckhand brought the lure to me and said the Pelican had found it in one of theier YFTs!! Dangit!!! Lost oppurtunity! Next time! ~~ Thanks TOO for organizing the trip! ANd thanks to all the friends on the boat and off the boat for helpin me catch my first Tunas! And I was using the Snagged Special Knot! (and the retrieved lure was broken on the line and not at the knot!-thanks Jerry!) ~~ One more item- My actual first hookup on my own was too easy. The crew said I set a record on getting the fish in the boat. I hooked it on a perch with my TLD25(50#). I was pumping and winding like no other waitin for the fish to run like h@ll- he never ran, came right up to the boat, I unhooked my harness like the deckhands said so not to loose the fish to the boat. The fish came next to the boat, put his head down and I got ready. I pulled up and he just layed there. Gaffed and in the boat in like 10 minutes! Gonna be some good eating! My first tuna was handed to me by the deckhand and it whooped me pretty good! I had to hand it back to the deckhand and by the time I could feel my arms again it was in the boat(and had been there for several minutes) ~~ Is it nov yet??

Sketter, Now you may understand why I don't bay fish. It's just bait, even with 6# line. Remember we have fun on 12 hours with 20# line catching kings and sailfish.
