I would repost this in the partner finder section. There are a lot of great fisherman that would like a fishing partner to split the costs of getting on the lake (gas and fees) in order to gain some experience and knowledge.

There always seems to be boaters looking for non-boaters in tournaments. Worst comes to worst, hang out at the boat ramp and flash a couple of $20s at guys that have decent looking boats. Whats the worst that could happen?

Look at the FLW series and the Bassmasters Weekender series. As mentioned, they are always looking for non-boaters.

You might also look at some bass clubs in your area. Century Bass Club of Dallas draws partners each tournament so that you fish with someone different each month. Lots of seasoned expierenced tournament anglers that you can learn a lot from.

FLW BFL Cowboy Division or American Bass Anglers east Texas Division.

If a guy would help with fuel cost he shouldn't have too much trouble finding a fishing buddy with a boat.
