Read that article in Sport Fishing Magazine. Did you see the price?

Having used Lowrance equipment for quite some time, I can say without qualification that their "fish ID" can't distinguish between a tree trunk and a threadfin shad. I think I'll invest my three grand some other way.

Can it tell the difference between a hyb and striper? Or other freshwater fish we chase?

It has the all the true basses and their subspecies in
the data base.

As long as the body type is different it will work.

So a small hybrid may come across as a white bass and a
very fat striper may show as a hybrid.

You have a settings for fresh and salt water, other
wise a largemouth shows up as a grouper and a
bluecat as a gafftop.
