Caught tons like that. just skin pigmentation has some differences..."birthmarks" if you will...

Did you catch that fish in a cooling pool for a nuclear or coal burning power plant? Check for 3rd eye and 2nd anus. Genetic engineering by heavy toxic metals or radiation. Go ahead and snopes it.

Actually it is an indication of Black Spot infestation, which causes melanistic black patches or spots in Largemouth Bass. It is due to a parasite that is spread by Kingfisher Birds - Vuvlifer ambloplites
Some bass can be totally black from this or varying degrees of spots or black melanistic patches -- it doesn't hurt the fish.

my dad caught one like that at fork in march that was over 3/4 black
