Just outta my own curiosity...how many of you fish via boat quite a bit by yourself? I just purchased a boat, haven't had one in almost 8 years. Thinking about going out this afternoon by myself for the first time in a long time. I've always enjoyed the company and camaraderie with someone fishing the back seat...is it just as fun by yourself?

I prefer to have someone in the boat to talk sh*t to, but I usually fish by myself. The only time fishing by yourself sucks is summer nights at Fork.

I like fishing with partner but also enjoy fishing by myself. I say I go at 50% of the time by myself.

I fish by myself alot. If it's windy, I keep the life jacket on at all times. Let someone know where you're going and what time you expect to be back. I've also taken my dog fishing this time of year since it's still fairly cool and she wouldn't burn up laying on the deck. I also keep the game warden's phone number in my wallet in case something terrible happens. Stay safe and good luck!

I used to fish by myself a bunch, but enjoy sharing the boat with someone these days. Much more fun.

I fish about half time with or w/o somebody(usually a family member). My son and I are starting to fish more together in some club tournies so I hope he enjoys it. Just gotta try and be more tolerable with him in the boat.

I've done plenty of both, however since I've (matured) most of my buddies can't go anymore. I still love it and I still go.

I'd rather have a back seater to make the time go better and to possibly find out more tricks to catch more "GREEN TROUT".

I fish 80% of the time alone, and it's great. You are not on anyone else schedule, you can position the boat how ever you want, and some times it's nice to get away from everything and everyone.

I like both but fish a lot by myself since I live near several lakes and most trips are not planned. When the weather is right and I have time and feel like it.... I go. When somebody is with me I work hard to put them on fish so I will say fishing alone is more relaxing.

I do both but love to fish alone. But I did fall in the lake once and luckly was in shallow enough water to get to shore. Now when alone I always wear an auto inflatable life vest. No way I could catch a fast drifting boat if I had to swim for it.

Retirement best job ever.

I too fish alone most of the time and I think there's a few reasons why:
1) The older I've gotten, the less patient I've become and more set in my ways. I like to fish all day and most of my freinds want to go for a couple of hours so I would rather leave them at home instead of listening to them complain or sit in the boat.

2) I have less time to make new freinds that would like to fish all day because I'm usually at the lake fishing all day.

3) I found that having too many friends that like to fish leads to decisions on who to take. The only decision I want to make is where am I going to fish?

4) And the last and most important- I seem to catch many more and bigger fish when I'm by myself than with other people or at least there's no witnesses to say I didn't!

I dont exaggerateI just remember BIG !!!

Both are great. I hate fishing by myself in the wind though -- too much going on and it turns into too much like work.
