What does everyone do with their used plastics? I always save them, put them in a bag, and sit back and wait for a moment of inventive brilliance (that, of course, never happens).

I mainly fish with flukes and have even wacky rigged the ripped up ones, but beyond that, does everyone just throw them away?

I normally wait a couple of weeks and pick them out of the bilge area of my boat the next time I put oil in.

Seriously though, I know some guys re use them by melting them own and repouring them.
I just toss them.

yeah...I have 4 cupholders in my boat and wait until they fill up and put em in a sack....probably have 20 pounds of plastic...guess I could sell it for re-pour material since I have no molds!

Tell you what I do with the sleeves that Trokar hooks come in though....wallpapering my living room with it! (I'm thirty bucks in, so It's a slow work in progress...lol) I can't even make myself throw away the plastic in the packaging!

I always save mine. I use some for practice (pond fishing) some are good for creating new designs (that usually just make me laugh) some are good for putting in a bag of new baits to slightly change their color. This one is my favorite.
(example)
I put a red shad or merthiolate in with a wat. seed and leave it in there. In a couple of days or weeks the dye begins to meld with each other and some killer colors come out of it. I really think this is a big attractant.

You can create a color that nobody else is using this way. cheers

I have zip lock bags on board and throw all my used one in two gallon zip lock bags.

Not to reuse though - to keep my kids from opening my news ones. never fails my girls will be fishing for about 10 minutes and then say "daddy, I want to play with your fishies" I used to give them a small bag of new ones, and then they wanted the pink ones then the green ones, then the red ones etc.

Now they get two full gallon baggies of every shape, variety and color.

Problem solved.

Get yourself some mend it and get creative. I've actually come up with a few Frankenlures that have caught some fish.

I save them and re-melt them mostly. I also make franken lures with them, my favorite so far is two 7" senkos glued together with a brush hog back half glued on one end. Its a huge worm that ive used at Choke and Amistad. Works well.

I usually just throw them away, but I have considered putting them in my nostrils and ears and scaring the grandkids! banana
