Is there a chart that you can carry in your boat to know which colors to start with on certain water colors?

Thanks.

3 colors are all you need

Black and blue
Green Pumpkin
Watermelon

These 3 will get you bit from coast to coast.

What color clarity is the black/blue good for? Muddy? I've never had any luck with that color.

Stained to muddy, and in low light conditions. My best days are on stained waters when the wind was blowing in the fall/winter.

I agree with Gone Shank'n, dirty, stained & muddy water is perfect for black and blue, personally thats my go to color and most the lakes I fish are stained to muddy

Just food for thought. Fish and baitfish tend to lighten up in stained and muddy water.
I agree with Fishkiller and usually the few colors I have are some variation of the 3 he listed.

No BlueFleck, Junebug or Red Shad?? LOL

Hard baits--shad colors and chrome/blue or black, chartruce colors like chart/blue etc., craw colors red brown orange.

Soft plastics--Watermelon red to start with and then any other watermelon color. Watermelon/gold and watermelon candy/red are a couple of my favorites also.
Green pumpkin plain or glitter works well if you aren't getting bit on the watermelon colors.
Black/blue
Junebug
Red Shad
Tequila Sunrise
Pumpkin
Chartruce
Trophy hunter
Blue Fleck

Normally I would start out with the darker colors for the darker water but I have seen Watermelon red work in muddy water so just experiment with them.

http://bassdozer.com/articles/color_blowout.shtml
Give this article a read..this is how i base my jigs a plastics.
Muddy water: When im fishing the bottom or tight to cover i like to use bold colors, not so much bright bling blang colors. When im fishing moving baits i like a bright bling blang colors though(firetiger, chartruse purple backs.

CLear Water: MInd your Greens and your browns ..anything natural when fishing the bottom(jigs and plastics). When im fishing clear to stained water and im using crankbaits i like to use baitfish colors.Chromeblack, chrome purple(guntersville,AL),Chrome BLue for my rat traps. LIpped cranks i like anything with a white belly and a dark back. Doesnt really matter the colors as long as the belly is white and back is dark. Bass are vertical.

MAybe that will help, its what i use when im determining color.

BTw when i say bold i dont mean like bright, I mean dark. BLACKS AND BLUES, BLACK AND REDS, DARK WATERMELON..ETC>ETC>ETC>

Here's a link to what you're looking for. It has a link to a .pdf file you can save or print.

I have a lot of luck with a motor oil color. It looks green in the water, and seems to work for most conditions
