I know this is not the correct section to post this question, but I seem to get more and better responses in this section.
I need to purchase a new trolling motor with the most trust in a 24 volt system.
I currently have a Motorguide and have had problems with the mount and the motor itself (only 2 years old). I am not knocking Motorguide, because I have used them for years without any major problems. Before I spend the money, I want to get opinions.
Thanks,
What trolling motor should I purchase?

The max you can get(24 volts) is an 80lb thrust in a Minnkota.
In a Motorguide it's 82lb thrust.
Depending on foot or hand your going to pay about a grand for a brand new one.

Minn Kota all the way. Curious do you currently have the Motor Guide 71 pound thrust FW71 digital or something like that?

Oh, get the MK Maxxum 80 or if you have the funds go with the 80 pound Fortrex

I'd hand the old lady a paddle and say" nice and steady does it" !
Just kidding guy's, I've had pretty good luck with minn kota except the plastic top part has broken several times. As i type I have another top piece sitting in the parts bin for the next lucky day! Other than that it has been a great motor..

Changed from MG about 8 years ago to MK and have never regretted it.
