I use to you gamakatsu hooks until my buddy hooked me in my fingernail(long story) and the hook bent. Once i saw how easily the hooks bent, i switched to owner. Owner is by far a stronger hook and a better overall imo.

Gammagotchas are pretty tough to beat. Giving the trokar a try but I bet I stick with gammas. any trouble with hook points folding over on the Trokar hooks? I haven't tried them yet, but if someone wants to buy a house I might try them!

Only time I use Gamakatsu is when I need a spare treble for my... wait nope those are Owners too.
You know the old saying
If it floats, flys, or f___s it is always cheaper to rent!
You have to decide which is more important.

Owner for sure. I've broken Gammy hooks on the hook-set, and the cost my partner a good fish in a tournament because it straightened out. Owner only for me.

I use them all, I like my options. But I think the Owners are stronger than Gamys

Bass fishing is like a 30,000 acre golf course with no flags and five holes you can't see- Tim

Owner hooks stay sharp, and always pull through for me... but honestly there really isn't too big a difference IMO. I preffer Owners, but fish both.

I use gamakatsu weedless finesse and owners for everything else. I have no problem with their wacky hook, gamakatsu are just easier to find, and have NEVER failed me.

I fish with Gammies and Owners you just need to consider the line size you will be using light wire hook 4 light line super line hook or Owner 4 heavier line good luck catch a toad !!

Ive been using gammy ewg's , but I noticed after I catch a fish on them they wont stay straight and bend more easily, so I moved to the gammy super line hooks they have a much thicker wire and I have been happy since. But after seeing this thread Im definitely going to try the owners now.

Yep, Owners all the way. I have a ton of Gami's but don't use them anymore due to all the aforementioned problems.

I fish with Gammies and Owners you just need to consider the line size you will be using light wire hook 4 light line super line hook or Owner 4 heavier line good luck catch a toad !! +1 Gammy's may bend easier but they are smaller wire and penetrate easier. I use gammies alot for penetration and play the fish properly to not risk breaking line or bending hook out. Smarter in my opinion to wear a fish down first anyhow. When i am flipping and dropping grass i go with owners or the old reaction BMF's until i run out for pure power. Dont matter as much if the point aint as sharp or the wire is thicker because i am gonna be close range with a big freaking stick and could probably bury a blunt stick in their jaw. As Far as Trokar them babies penetrate excellent but two downsides i found one is obviously the price tag the other is the cutting point will tear up a bait faster where you skin hook the bait(i also have this problem with cut point owners). I will say this to all those talkin bout how weak the Gammies are. I stuck my PB of 12.90 on one of those "weak" hooks. and a 10.25 also. I really like that lighter wire on c rig makes it soooooo much easier to get a hook in fish without popping leaders and such.
