People not from west Texas and think they are at Fork...If I was a little younger the jacka$$ that blew by me on plane last week would have got yanked off his boat for an attitude adjustment! Lol

Caught an 8 last week and had a bank beater pull out there mark the spot on his back graph and since his front one wasn't evidently linked he got up to the front and marked it on there before driving off.

There are also very few fishing Ivie that know how to cast. Mostly trolling strolling or whatever you want to call it with the TM.

Was fishing Ivie this weekend on the ridge where I caught my new PB 9.1 lber. Had another guy fishing about 150 yards or so from us toss a marker buoy and start fishing it. He broke off a rig and while he was tying on a new one drifted 30 yards or so from the buoy. Another boat trolled over and started fishing his buoy! We couldn't believe it and really couldn't believe he didn't say anything. No one caught anything regardless but still, I couldn't imagine myself trolling over and fishing a spot someone else was on and had marked.

I personally feel uncomfortable if I get myself within 75-100 yards of another boat so I do my best not to. Plenty of water and if they're in a spot I want to get to I just come back. If I'm curiuos about what their fishing I'll make a mental note and come back to check it out later. No need to push your way in like you're trying to make it to the front of a crowded line.

I think they call it drifting out there.

There are times that I'm at Ivie and I have seen JR's truck at the ramp and I don't ever see him on the water. Sometimes I'll see him zig zagging the lake. A couple times we've crossed paths, and we had a minute to chat, but I feel like I shouldn't have to count on his hard work to catch fish on his or some one else's "spot". I feel that I shouldn't even be fishing tournaments if I didn't put in my own time and effort to find my own "spots". I also know some people don't give it a second thought to do it and it won't bother their concience at all. Those are the people I feel sorry for, and think are sorry. I have been fishing tournaments on Ivie knowing the Dixon's as well as a lot of other excellent fishermen out there on the water, and are out there probably getting a nice sack put together. But to this day I don't even know where they are fishing on the lake. So I usually don't let it bother me when I'm just fishing or pre-fishing to have people coming up on me. I generally can find fish somewhere else if I feel too crowded. I'll even tell them vaguely what was working for me there and go somewhere else.
During a tournament though, if I'm on the fish I'll guard it a little more but not to the point of being hateful or rude to someone. In a way it's a compliment to see people trying to do what is working for you.
I've had people in my boat with me using exactly what I'm using and still not catch any of the fish that I'm catching.
Fishing has, and probably will always come down to the presentation, technigue, lure choice, color, stealth, and patience.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know when to go fishing.

I have to post on this because this is really a sore subject to alot of us. What we have to understand is that we may not be the only person that has fished a certain area. Just maybe that other fisherman found the same fish. I realize this is not always the case, but I try to give fellow bass fishermen the benefit of the doubt. I understand the sharks on Ivie. It has been that way for 20 years. Especially on the main lake humps.

Well on a brighter note, at Bass Champs LBJ, I was fishing a grassy island and a guy was fishing towards me. He was out a little ways from the bank fishing a little deeper as I was beating the bank. When we approached each other I simply asked if he wanted me to go around him or cut through on my same trek. He responded well we are fishing 2 different ways and just keep on your path. He was one of the most courteous fisherman I have ever met on the water. I didn't get his name but he was a stand up dude. When in doubt just ask. And, we both caught some fish within sight of each other.

Get your local game wardens number... They LOVE giving out tickets for nonsense like that. Spoken to quite a few of them on the water.

You want to see uncourteus people, fish Rayburn during the McDonalds tournament. That is a very large lake and people still want to run right past you on plane, sometimes at WOT. My brother and I both nearly got run over last year and we were in seperate boats.
