Academy has the $19.99 Cat stick combo on sale for $9.99......rod's not bad but it's a cheap 1 bearing reel but for $9.99 who cares....... good channel cat combo just passing along info on a deal..........  http://www.academy.com/index.php?page=catalog&target=weeklyad&pgNum=1

Haha! Bought one of those back in November for $19.99. My wife was giving me a rash about buying more fishing stuff. So I was playing around bending the rod telling her I was going to catch a 50 pounder, and snap, broke the damn thing in half. We both had a good laugh. For $9.99 a great buy for a kick around rod/reel.

PB - 35# Blue Catfish Alexx PB - 7 lbs. Blue Catfish As far as Paul is concerned, he is my Bro. Lay off him. All is good. I might be in, just to hang with Paul. Sounds like a party.

good Paul....I passed on them just cuz I don't need them....I'd be buying them just to buy them......but if I needed some I'd buy cpl for sure....was in Academy today and saw a guy buy four then he took the reels off and told the guy at gun counter to give them away he was just buying them for the rods............ they are not "great" rods but pretty good for $10........

See the rapala pliers about half way down the ad on the left? I have had pair of those for about 3 years and are great pliers. I went to academy and got 3 pairs of them just to have. Good buy for 3.99.
