All good things must come to an end. Well it applies to the run on the Nueces. Got to the first rapid at eight ZERO. Moved up. Zero. Moved up. Zero. Sorry. Two dinks. Moved up. Deeper water. Nice blue cats five pounds. Then had a couple straighten my wire hooks. All fish in tight brush. Shad from river out fished minnows by far. Picked of one to five whites from each spot on rapids. Ended day with 48 keepers 18 cats nice cats. Blues and channels mixed. Zero crappie or goo. No fish seen in rapids like i normally do. Very thin. Water down also. Lots of islands showing up. Said my farewells till next year. A couple tears also. Ha nah But oh how i love the beautiful white bass run on THE Best white bass river near San antone. Final numbers for Feb and March 835 whites cleaned and eaten. 45 Cats. Freezer already empty they are that good.

Nnnnnnnnnnoooooooooooooo!!!! Lol. Man I hate the end of the run, it's like losing your best rod and reel in the water. How are you guys catching the catfish there? Like how are you guys rigging the shad? And dead or alive? Was gona go for a little trip down there but may as well focus on the blues. Where on the river were you guys catching the cats? Thanks man, you don't have to answer all questions. I just love to fish lol so when I get started with questions I keep going lol.

Live shad under a cork one to two feet deep. Cast in heavy cover. Pull up on brush flip it in. Drift down and cast to brush cover a lot of water. Rapids in eddies. I would say you are gonna catch a few whites while doing this also.

The whole river is full. There are blue green river minnows shad medium large and magnum. Take your pick. Medium worked best two inch. Throw net all over.
