I've had reasonably good luck at the pond behind Sam's. But was wondering if anyone else knows of any other stocked ponds in the area. I'm also curious if anyone has any experience with any of the private lakes in the area.

Is that pond open to the public?

If you pull of the rod on HWY 30 at the bridge that says Gibbons creek and go under the bridge believe it or not there are fish in there. Don't ask how we came about that little fishing spot I don't even know. The cops are cool with it they pulled over and asked if there was anything in there then drove off.

Are you sure that it is legal to fish behind Sam's Club? I have always wanted to fish it, but I thought it was private.

I have been out there a thousand times, if its private no one has said anything to me or the 3-4 other people fishing it while I'm there.

You say that but the one time I go and get a line in the water something would happen. Guess it's worth a shot though.

Let me know how you do. I'd be out there on Friday and Saturday, but a little event known as chili fest has my interest for the weekend.

Unfortunately I don't get to very much. Been to some area lakes with the Aggie Anglers, but I mainly just get to fish when I'm back in North Texas.

Are the Aggie Anglers some sort of club or team?

There's a pond behind Central Baptist Church that is supposed to have some bass and perch in it. I went out there the other day and came up empty but I might try it again soon.

Is that the one that they just expanded? I'm not sure if they restocked it yet.
