not sure how the fishing is right now, but when I used to fish there.. we would take the jetty boat over to the north jetty after a norther had passed and kill the trout..either throwing touts or with live shrimp.
also, some of the bridges between port A and aransas have fish pass through on tidal changes..

Good luck.. and let us know how you do.

The annual red run is getting fired up, I reccommend that you take a surf rod to the Port A jetties. And hold onto that rod.......

When people realize what is really important in life there will be a shortage of fishing rods.

I've found the best baits to be cut piggy perch, small mullet and croaker. We caught 12 reds Sunday before last right out of Hampton's Landing in Aransas Pass, but if you're going to the Jetties then cut bait on the end of the south jetty always works for me.
Good luck...we're going to try Big Shell this weekend.
